This month's Youthwork magazine resource features a prayer from St. Francis of Assisi. Here is the prayer in pdf form.
xtranormal is a new site that lets you create animated movies without any previous experience! Basically, you type in what you want characters to say, choose what they'll look like and where the caerma will be and, before you know it, there's a movie! I think has two real possibilities: one is giving young people the chance to make a movie as part of a project in, say, an RE lesson. The other is making movies that you can use in a presentation during a lesson or assembly. The site has plenty of examples of movies that have already been created and, whilst it's not Pixar, the look is quite impressive. With a little practice you could put together something very cool. Have a go and see what you think!
“We love our youthworker!†will be officially launched next spring, but here's a sneak preview of the aims of the charter and the set of seven sections with the cartoons to accompany them.
This is a campaign to encourage churches to think about the way they employ a full time worker and is based on a set of seven promises that churches commit to follow.
We believe that keeping full time workers positive, productive and living balanced lives makes for great youthwork. That's an important step towards building God's kingdom among young people.
Churches who sign up to the Charter gain a set of benefits and can expect to attract the very best youth workers in the UK. And, of course, it can also help them think about the best way to support volunteer youth workers.
Keep reading to see the set of seven cartoons by the ever brilliant Dave Walker from Cartoon Blog, and a description of each of the seven promises.
In the latest Youthwork Magazine we gave you some ideas to use in assemblies based on money. There are loads of themes you can draw out of these, or purely use them for fun, but here's the vid demonstrating the coin trick and an explanation of how it's done.
I am yet to see this film, but have it on good authority of the Curtis that it is one worth watching and using in your work with young people. So, the wonderful people at Youth Specialities have once again blessed us with their creativity and put together a study guide based on the film, free to download from their website.
