I was in school last week 'Hanging Around' when two year 10 pupils came upto me and asked for a Bible - (now that is not a question I'm asked every day!! I can tell you). I asked why and they said 'we want to find something in there about 2012...' I was intrigued - we chatted further and I said I'll sort Bibles for them. The Christian Group was running at the time, the end of lunch time was happening so we popped over and I picked up two bibles - gave them - mentioned it to the others in the group and it will be really interesting to see what comes from this...
HAM - something I came across that has been really helpful and compliments some other formal aspects of schools work. About being there and getting alongside pupils (and staff!). In fact some of the best conversations I have had over the years have been with staff in school at lunch, break and other similar times. I find it a very helpful way of getting to know some young people...from time to time apart from the usual topics that young people want to chat about - those great moments when they want to chat about God..the bible...christianity and some more!!
