Frontier Youth Trust and Worth Unlimited are running a fantastic FREE day event, focused on Christian work in education. Do get along if you can... schoolsworkUK will be there and we'd love to meet you. Here is the information about the event, as posted on their website:

Churches and Christian organisations are increasingly investing in supporting young people who find mainstream education a challenge. Working as informal educators and youth workers in a formal education context can be very effective and a rewarding experience, but it can also sometimes be difficult.

This free event, co-sponsored by FYT and Worth Unlimited, will explore work with schools and look at the issues of supporting pupils via alternative and complementary education approaches, such as the creative arts and through positive mentoring programmes.

The day will consist of a number of short inputs from youth workers, school workers and practitioners, designed to stimulate thinking, followed by open group discussions to explore the subjects raised and develop practical responses. If you're an experienced worker with expertise to share, just starting out, a teacher, trustee or someone thinking of developing an educational-based project, book your place now!

When: Wednesday 22nd July 2015, 10 am to 4 pm
Where: Salvation Army Walthamstow Centre, 434 Forest Road, Walthamstow, London, E17 4PY
Cost: The event is free but we reserve the right to charge £25 if you fail to turn up on the day.
Food: Drinks will be provided but you will need to bring your own lunch

The event is open to anyone, but we ask people to book in so we can arrange refreshments and plan accordingly. Click here to go directly to the bookings page.
