I'm doing an assembly in a new school about courage...
any ideas for lunch time activity for day of pentecost in may 2008. discussions/activities /games/
At a recent training session for priests in Rome, the Catholic church highlighted new areas of sin that should feature as part of confession along with the more traditional ideas of sloth, envy, pride etc. I wondered what young people would add to the list...or take away.
Does anyone have any ideas for craft or art workshops for 12 - 15 year olds?
I'm thinking of things like glass painting, cooking workshops...pizza etc.
I'm exploring how to do lunch times differently...thinking about a CU for un-churched young people, not a traditional su style, but more informal with games/competitions and a 5 min short discussion/story. Maybe themed around an issue like bullying.
Partly in response to the last post and also after a conversation with another member of the schoolswork community earlier today, just wanted to flag up a couple of really great resources you may find useful in your work. Both will be added to the Resource Toolkit.
Does anyone know of any good resources for Secondary school Christian unions to use?
I'm looking to develop something for year 6 children for their transition to secondary school, and thinking of workshops and lessons with a Christian emphasis.
There's been some chat on here before about sports in schools and working with young people through sport, so I thought I'd share about a camp that's coming up in a couple weeks and also point out some training later on in the year for anyone involved in sport that wants to make a difference for Christ.
I wanted to start a discussion about extended schools work, what work is already going on, what resources are available and what would people like to see happen?
Very interesting conversation in school today...!
Networking. Anyone in the Worthing area?
Beckham is set to get his 100th cap for England tomorrow night as he plays in the match against France. I may not know very much about sport but this seems pretty significant. The 32 year old father of 3 who now plays for Los Angeles Galaxy team is about to become only the fifth England player to ever win 100 caps. It's made me stop and think for a moment...
