Here you will find an overview of the SEL program we’re currently running in schools in Luton.

We’ve developed a series of four lessons, two on emotions and two on spirituality that will help young people to explore spirituality and emotions. Lessons are for Year 7 pupils and we also have a curriculum for Year 8 and plan eventually to extend through all key stages. They are delivered through the English curriculum.

I saw something on the news this morning as I was munching my toast which sounded interesting, it was not actually about teaching happiness, but that’s how the BBC introduced it. Did anyone see it? I can’t seem to find the details on their site...it turned out to be what sounds like a SEAL type lesson encouraging students to reflect on feelings they have and how to make good positive decisions when thinking about conflict resolution and how to calm down when they get angry. I think they summarised it as being about teaching resilience?
