Stories in London

Sunday 6th Jul, 2008 in: Other by Amy Stock

We had a fantastic day with Neil Ruckman from Credo leading our training, who also led the days in Bristol and Manchester for us. Here’s what people had to say:

“inspired. enough said!”

“I am so glad I came today and endeavour to become a person who lives, breathes and thinks about stories to communicate our God”

“I feel empowered and motivated”

“Enjoyable and educational”

“Informative, practical and applicable tips. Friendly atmosphere, brilliant location”

“I’m excited about using what I’ve learnt”

“It’s demystified the art for me without removing the magic”

It’s been a fun few weeks, I’ve loved meeting lots of new people, hearing people’s stories of what they’re doing in schools/youth groups and the journeys they are on. There’s been some fantastic stories to come out, about schools projects emerging out of some young people who wanted to make a difference in their local schools; interfaith groups being set up; storytelling groups touring around churches and schools wanting to come and be inspired.

In time we’ll put some material into the resource toolkit and thinking pages of the site to come out of the thinking that went into developing the Stories With Significance training days. We also recorded the day in London on Saturday. Once that’s been put into a web friendly format we’ll let you know what’s going to happen with that.

The question is, what next? Once we’ve had a day or two to debrief Stories With Significance, take part in end of term activities, take our kids on summer camp and have a week off, we’ll be definitely planning some training days and events for next year, so watch this space!

Somewhat embarassing, but inspiring and amazing fun...it can’t be any more embarassing in schools work...can it?! Was a great day thanks!

Well done Amy and all the team! It was really helpful, although I still have a carpet burn from being a deflating balloon!
