New lessons to learn?

Tuesday 6th Nov, 2007 in: SEN by Lillie Jenkins

Today saw the annual state opening of Parliament and with MP’s coming back to work (thanks guys some of us came back in September!) comes the Queen’s speech. On the agenda was increasing compulsory education to 18 years of age. It may never happen or not kick in for years but for those of us not in FE or HE it’s interesting to think about how our role ‘in school’ could change.

With the shifting face of education; increasing vocational courses, academies, campus education, personalised learning etc it’s great to have this site to help us schools workers navigate together.

For more info on the Governments proposals that involve young people see the BBC’s coverage...http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7080446.stm
