Alternatives to Alpha
Looking for alternatives to Alpha for a lunch club that I run…
I have been running Alpha in secondary schools for several years now, but the same kids are coming back for more.
Can anyone recommend an alternative exploring Christianity course. Something you’ve tried and is really fab?

Hi Libs,
How did your group get on with Alpha? You say the same kids have been coming back, what do you think they particularly like or want to come back for?
If some of your group are Christians already, or would do well to take on a bit of ownership of the group, it might be worth seeing if New Generation might be relevant for them: http://www.newgenerationuk.com/. They are fantastic in resourcing the young people themselves to be leaders and running groups themselves in their schools. This is the best kind of schools work!
If they are still needing a lot more structure and input from you, then here’s a couple of thoughts to get you started:
-Scripture Union just put all their CU resources online (http://www.schoolslive.org)
- check out this resource post I wrote back in April: http://schoolswork.co.uk/blog/entry/resources/
- you might also want to see this blog post all about lunch groups: http://schoolswork.co.uk/blog/entry/whats-the-point/
Let us know how you get on!
