ooooh i like that, i might use them for mentoring materials!”

oh i feel so loved! i’m not sure i’d be doing my job though if all that happened chris!!

Let me be the second! Happy New Year. Hope schools workers everywhere are having some good chillaxing time before the new term begins. Here’s to a fantastic year of seeing transformation, growth, renewal and hope in the lives of young people we work with. Cheers!

Another story that might be appropriate is the story of a black South African woman who has forgiven and befriended a white South African policeman who tortured and murdered her husband and son.

Hope this might help.

One that springs to mind is a story that is about 2 brothers...read about it here. It might need simplyfying a bit for primary, but it’s a really powerful question...imagine if the two brothers had made up their differences and not opted for retaliation...they would have been a force to be reckoned with! And the thought that we sometimes fall into the trap of trying to get our own back, when often if we talk things through and work out our differences, everyone can benefit…

Hi Tom, there was a picture that one of the team put together...however on reflection we didn’t want to scare people away from the site ;). And yep, this isn’t the last you’ve seen of the Murphy. Blessings.

Response to the exhibition has been incredible. Lots of people have been through during the week, and we have had to open up for an extra day tomorrow. Here are some pictures on the BBC news website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/7775107.stm.

I am just retired as a University Chaplain and lecturer and I believe this gives a clue to finding a very helpful resources based on ‘story telling’ for many who teach in our schools. Personal stories are very useful and need to be there to back up more intellectual arguments.

Howard.

Kieran Murphy - welcome to the podcast fold! Are you a new regular presenter? Can we have a Kieran joke of the month? Whatever happened to the picture of Chris Curtis in superman clothes? So many questions… I need answers!

There’s lots of Rocky love here… How much has he agreed to pay you all to comment?!

Wednesday 31st Dec, 2008 in: Other by Chris Curtis

So let me be the first to wish everyone a great 2009. May your assemblies be riveting, your dodgy tech equipment work faultlessly, may there be no pupil interruptions or bad introductions and may RE teachers everywhere look upon you with eternal respect and love. Well, something like that anyway.

See Me

Monday 8th Dec, 2008 in: Primary, Secondary, 16+, SEN by Amy Stock

In Luton this week we’re busy preparing for a public exhibition which launches tomorrow night. I just listened to an audio track which will be available on ipods to listen to as you walk around the exhibition and although I see these young people week by week, I was incredibly moved hearing them talk. The exhibition is about children in the care system, by children in the care system, and aims to raise awareness and let their voices be heard.

colour, identity, confusion and skittles

Sunday 7th Dec, 2008 in: Other by Amy Stock

Ok so the weekend’s almost over, it’s been a blissful combination of no work (almost!), Christmas parties, mulled wine, Mariah’s Christmas album (oh yes), and, the grand finale before I give in to the fact that it is actually going to be Monday again soon - I’m enjoying a big bag of skittles I bought yesterday (yep, i know how to have fun). Now this isn’t just any bag of skittles...they’re confused skittles. confused? me too…
